A Malaysian thriller movie on the triumph of humanity over racial extremism in a dystopian future.

PENDATANG Is a script by Lim Boon Siang that we received as part of our first screenwriting competition in 2019. It is a dystopian thriller set in Malaysia where the different races are not allowed to mix, by force of draconian law.

The story starts when a Chinese family moves into their new "allocated" house and discovers a small Malay girl hiding there. Should they just ‘get rid’ of her and put her in mortal danger, or risk their own safety and lives by trying to smuggle her back to “the Malay area”?
